Notah Begay began his golf career while attending Stanford University. There, he was a three-time All-American champion and he was also a teammate of Tiger Woods. He competed in the 1994 NCAA Division I Men’s Gold Championship and he did so as a Stanford University student. He turned professional in 1995 and in 1998, he competed at the Nike Tour Dominion Open and shot a 59. From 1999 until 2000, he recorded four PGA Tour wins. In 2006, he competed on the Nationwide Tour. After some bad years as a golfer, he regained his playing card for the 2009 PGA Tour. He has been featured in the top 20 of the Official World Golf Rankings.

In 2005, he launched his non-profit foundation called Notah Begay III Foundation. The foundation focuses on providing health and wellness education to Native American youths. Begay represented United States in competitions like Walker Cup in 1995, Presidents Cup in 2000, Wendy’s Tour Challenge in 2000 and many more.
