Ving Rhames was born Irving Rameses Rhames on the 12th of May, 1959 in New York City, New York, United States and he was born to a mother named Reather Rhames who worked as a homemaker and a father named Ernest Rhames who worked as an auto mechanic and his parents spent most part of their lives in South Carolina.
Rhames attended the New York High School of Performing Arts and it was where he discovered his acting talent, after graduating from the School, he enrolled at SUNY Purchase, he studied there for a while before transferring to the Julliard School’s of Drama Division, which is where he graduated from in 1983 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree.
