Ken Jeong was born Kendrick Kang-Joh Jeong on the 13th of July, 1969 in Detroit, Michigan, United States and he was born to South Korean immigrants, he was raised in Greensboro, North Carolina and attended the Walter Hines Page High School, which is where he participated in the Quiz Bowl Team, while in High School, he also played Violin in the Orchestra and was elected to the Student Council.

Jeong played football in his 10th, 11th and 12th grade, he graduated and got a Greensboro’s Youth of the month award, and he attended the Duke University and graduated in 1990 and obtained a Masters degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine in 1995.
