Cory Bowles is best known for his role as Cory in Trailer Park Boys, he is also known for working as a choreographer on Halifax-based contemporary Dance Company Verve Mwendo. He also provides voicing in the Children’s series Poko. Bowles started out as an MC of hip hop act Hip Club Groove and he released an EP under No Records. He later moved to Murderrecords and released a full length EP.
In 1997, he formed a theatre company alongside bandmate Joe Wyne and the company was called Good Companions. He was later awarded a Gemini Award for his work on Trailer Park Boys and ECMA nominations for music. He also choreographed for music stars like Matt Mays and Jenn Grant. He later quit his work as a Choreographer and began to work in film, theatre and music at Bishop’s University. He made his comeback to the Trailer Park Boys in season 8 and he has since become a prominent part of the film.
In 2017, he was awarded the award for the best Canadian feature film at the 2017 Vancouver International Film Festival and at the 6th Canadian Screen Awards, he was given the John Dunning Discovery Award. He also directed Black Cop film. Some of his other films and series include; Roaming in 2013, Heart of Rhyme in 2011, Pure in 2017, Diggstown in 2019 and more.
